Paul DelGrosso, LICSW, LCSW-C

Therapist

Paul received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Catholic University in 2006. Paul is an advanced certified schema therapist, supervisor and trainer. He is also a Level II trained attachment-based family therapist working toward advanced certification with Drexel University. Paul completed four years of post-graduate training in Bowen Family Systems theory and psychotherapy at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Washington, DC. Paul is also a skilled provider of SPACE, EMDR, ERP, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

Paul’s clinical practice includes working with individuals, families and groups. In his individual practice, Paul primarily works with adults who find themselves stuck in unfulfilling life patterns that are often the result of unmet needs in childhood, traumatic experiences, or problematic personality traits. These patterns frequently lead to significant distress, anxiety, depression, and difficulty with interpersonal relationships.

Paul’s family practice focuses on adolescents and young adults who, with their parents, work to improve trust and communication, repair interpersonal ruptures, strengthen healthy family roles, and embrace new ways of relating. The needs of the family system guide the treatment plan. Therapy may involve working separately with parents around understanding and modifying parenting practices. Therapy may also address relational ruptures between a youth and one or both parents.

Paul is an active member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST), is co-editor of the ISST Bulletin, and co-leads the Schema Therapy Institute of Washington, DC.
